The 2023 UHS One Million Rand Diwali Hamper Drive.

We are delighted to announce our upcoming event, The 2023 UHS One Million Rand Diwali Hamper Drive

Our goal is to distribute 2500 Diwali Hampers, each priced at R400 per hamper pack which will include essential food items, sweets, and other traditional items associated with Diwali. Through this drive, we hope to foster a sense of togetherness and compassion within our community. However, the success of this endeavour depends on your generous financial support. We kindly request a contribution of only R400 per hamper and appeal to you to donate towards as many hampers as possible. Your kind donation will help ignite the joy and spirit of Diwali in the lives of those in need.

About UHS

The Umhlanga Hindu Society (UHS) was established to fulfill the religious, cultural, spiritual, charitable and social needs of the Hindu community in Durban North, the greater Umhlanga area, and its surrounds. From humble beginnings that commenced with regular weekly home services, the Umhlanga Hindu Society has grown with the acquisition of its current site in Somerset Park, at the corner of Hambridge Drive and Mt. Edgecombe Drive and the development, management and construction of the place of worship and cultural centre, which in itself, encompasses a unique temple design that caters for both North and South Indian Temple styles.
